The population living in cities is growing and so is its wasting. Urban solid waste production is expected to double from 2012 data to 2.600 million tonnes by 2025 according to the World Watch Institute.

In order to overcome global warming, we face the challenge of stabilizing greenhouse gas emissions over the next 20 years, while global primary energy demand could rise up to 41%. Urban, agricultural and industrial waste provides a great source of sustainable and renewable energy globally that can be produced through specific methods of disposal and transformation.

The Fraunhofer UMSICHT Research Institute for Energy, Process Innovation and Product Innovation which works to promote sustainable economies, eco-friendly technologies and innovative approaches, has developed the innovative Thermo-Catalytic Reforming Technology (TCR® ).
This technology has been acquired by RIG-EN with the aim of exploiting its industrial and commercial opportunities worldwide.

The main features of TCR are:

Flexibility of input raw material

Flexibility of use for outbound products

Energy efficiency

Energy efficiency

Dimensions and reduced
plant costs

Quick Payback of the investment
